Environmental March Service Reflection

The weekend after Earth Day, I traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in a march to raise awareness for climate change and advocate for the environment. I woke up at five in the morning and the bus left at 6am. It took us four hours to get to Washington. By the time we got there, it was over 90 degrees. The march began at noon and we marched for four hours throughout Washington, ending up in front of the White House. There were thousands of participants, all chanting and carrying signs. Although marching for hours in the blazing heat was difficult and uncomfortable, it was incredibly rewarding to be around so many inspiring people advocatingĀ forĀ such an imperative cause.
