In second grade is all about allowing students to continue to search for understanding and expand their knowledge through new experiences. Students are encouraged to explore, experiment, make connections, ask questions to discover how things work, use science equipment, and wonder. In addition, students will read, write, watch, and listen, but more importantly, they are conducting their own experience. The approach is process-based, which will serve the students now and their whole lives. They will investigate the world around them and be motivated to pursue their own ideas as well as others. As they learn to be resilient, we their accomplishments and discoveries as budding scientists.
Students have science twice during the 10-day cycle. The class is 45 minutes long.
