The much-anticipated iPhone 5 has finally been released for sale by Apple. The iPhone 5 was available for preorder a few weeks before its actual release on September 21st. 2 million people preordered the new phone within 24 hours of its release to the public. This excitement has perhaps come from the exciting new features on the phone that we’ve been waiting years for. It is, in fact, the lightest iPhone yet, because it’s 18% thinner than the 4s. It also has 11 by 36 by 640 resolution, which allows for 5 rows of icons, as opposed to the 4 rows on all the previous phones. It has a much studier back, which is made of aluminum. Since this back is metal, and not glass (like the others), it will prevent the phone from shattering if it is dropped. The phone now has 8 hours of 3g, LTE talk time, or browsing. Another great thing about the new phone is its battery life, which exceeds that of the iPhone 4s. Unfortunately, if you want all this new battery life, you will have to buy a new charger. The iPhone now has a charger that is 80% smaller than the previous one, called Lightning. Therefore, if you have a speaker that your iPhone plugs into now, you are going to need an adapter to make it work with the new iPhone. Also, the app, Facetime, which used to be available with Wi-Fi only, can now be used over cellular networks. Lastly, the camera can now, not only take normal snapshots, but can take pictures in panoramic view as well.
