The Oscars are always a really big thing, and anyone in the film industry is always looking for an opportunity to get one, whether they direct, act, make sets, or costumes. However, every year along with the seriousness that comes along with opening every envelope, or deciding every winner, there are always a few embarrassing, hilarious, or simply outrageous moments that set a whole different attitude for the Oscars. And with this year’s host, the incredible Ellen DeGeneres, it was hard to take some things seriously. Here’s a list of our favorite moments from the Oscars.
Clumsy Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence, the well-known actor for playing characters such as Katniss in the Hunger Games series, isn’t exactly as nimble when she’s not on a set. Last year at the Oscars, Lawrence tripped on the stairs when she went to receive her academy award for Best Actress in “Silver Linings Playbook.” This year she again had trouble staying on her feet. When exiting her limo and getting onto the red carpet, she tripped once again. If you missed watching this on your big screen at home, or simply want to relive the laughs, you can find a video here.
The Super Selfie
Twitter is one of the most used, most popular social networking sites of all time. This year’s host, Ellen, managed to crash it with one picture. Nicknamed the “super-selfie,” Ellen took a picture at the Oscars on live television starting with Meryl Streep- extending to the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. It was immediately posted on Ellen’s Twitter, quickly reaching a record number of retweets and favorites, crashing the social network. After receiving the news live, Ellen immediately boasted, saying “We crashed and broke Twitter. We made history.”

The Pizza Delivery
Another amazing stunt by Ellen DeGeneres, and probably the most expensive too. Claiming she was hungry on stage, she asked the audience who wanted pizza, and getting so many requests, she met all their needs by ordering almost a hundred pizzas from Big Mama’s & Papa’s Pizzeria. When they were delivered backstage, she took the delivery man, and asked him to help serve the pizzas to some of the most well-known celebrities on Earth. The delivery guy wasn’t some actor either, he was an actual employee, who was slightly terrified of serving pizzas to people like Leo DeCaprio or Angelina Jolie at first, though he handled it very well. After all the pizzas were done and over with, Ellen went around asking for a tip, mocking celebs along the way. The next day, Ellen had the same delivery guy on her show, and delivered the $1000 tip.
