Oscar Results!

The Oscars were hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and it was both hilarious and interesting! Although most of you watched it, you might not have catched all the results, so here are some of the most important ones!

To start off out list, let’s do Animated Feature Film. The nominees were Despicable Me 2, Frozen, Ernest and Celeste, The Croods, and The Wind Rises. And the winner is… FROZEN! With 89% on Rotten Tomatoes and $388.8 million earned, this is no surprise.

The winner for Best Actress in a Supporting Role went to Lupita Nyong’o for her work in 12 Years a Slave. She had a heartwarming acceptance speech that was an instant crowd pleaser at the Oscars this year.

Next award on our list, Actor in a Supporting Role. Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) took this award home. Each nominee had a very close chance at winning the oscar, especially Barkhad Abdi, because of his work in Captain Phillips was so amazing, especially because he was a limo driver before this.

The winner of Best Actress in a Leading Role went to Cate Blanchett for her work in Blue Jasmine. Many people thought that Sandra Bullock was going to win for her work in Gravity, but it seems the blockbuster actress didn’t get her chance at that little statue.

Second to last on our list, Best Actor in a Leading Role, went to Matthew McConaughey for his stunning performance in Dallas Buyers Club! Many people anticipated this award, even some people who hadn’t seen Dallas Buyers Club.

And now for the biggest award of the night, Best Picture! And the winner is… 12 Years a Slave! This year there were many opinions of who was going to win, because of all of the other nominees, like Gravity and Captain Phillips.
