I recently had the pleasure of seeing Hamilton, a brilliant broadway musical about the founding father Alexander Hamilton. There were so many things I loved about this play, but I think one of the most intrigueing things about the performance is that much of the dialogue is sung in rap. But despite that, the play by Lin-Manuel Miranda is very historically accurate.
I recommend this musical for children above 10, especially people soon to enter 7th grade because the play is also a good introduction into early american history which students will learn more about in 7th grade history. This may not be a good choice for younger children because there is some vulgar language and innapropriate themes and some of this dialogue can be hard to follow. Hamilton is a fantastic play and a real crowd pleaser and I highly recommend seeing it.
