Just recently, Jenrry Mejia has been given a lifetime ban from the MLB. The Mets pitcher failed his third drug test in 11 months on Friday. He is the first player in the MLB to ever be suspended for using PEDs, performance enhancing drugs.
Mejia was caught using the steroid boldenone, which increases muscle mass. Boldenone, also known as Equipose, Ganabol, and Ultragon is one of the many banned substances in the MLB. Other such substances include Danabol, Nadrolone, and testosterone.
Being formally banned from the MLB means that Jenrry Mejia cannot play baseball, in the minor or major leagues ever. He can also not manage any teams, coach any teams, or be an umpire. He can’t be inducted into the Hall of Fame, until after he dies.
Some notable players banned from the MLB include, Pete Rose, George Steinbrenner, Steve Howe, and Joe Jackson.
Jennry wants to reduce the ban to one year. If that happens, even after a one year ban, he would have to play in the minors for two years without PED use. If he manages to complete his two minor years without drugs, then he can return to the major leagues.
