Robin Hood Teen Council is an year long opportunity designed to give students an introduction to poverty fighting in action. High school students from the tri-state area meet once a month to learn about poverty in New York City and Robin Hood’s grant making process. DOROT is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to alleviate social isolation and provide concrete services to older adults. They have various intergenerational programs offered for students who are interested in interacting with older adults. The Friendship Circle cultivates friendships between children with special needs and teen volunteers. Children’s Circle is a two-hour drop off program in Chelsea on the first and third Sunday of each month,  for children with special needs to join with peer volunteers for a fun, educational group experience

LSA Family Health Service needs, caring, committed student volunteers for the fall/spring semester. They need after school tutors on Mondays and Wednesdays. Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York (CCC) CCC is a multi-issue child advocacy organization that seeks to ensure that every child is healthy, housed, educated, and safe.  YouthAction NYC engages New York City youth from diverse backgrounds in civic participation and advocacy.
