This year I started working as a counselor for four year olds at a program at FIAF. Twice a week, for an hour each time, I do crafts projects with the kids, sing songs, and read books with them, all in French. This opportunity has not only been beneficial for the head teachers at the program because I am now here to offer extra help, and for the children because they now have a more personal attention, but the program has also been beneficial for me because I get to practice my french out of the classroom. Seeing the kids improve their french while building a connection with each child has been a very valuable experience and one I am lucky to have. Volunteering with FIAF after school has even lead me volunteering there over this upcoming summer.
