Judith is the Lower School Computer Science, Design and Engineering teacher at Friends Seminary.

Teaching with technology is her passion.  She enjoys helping elementary school children gain competence and confidence as control robots, design their own digital worlds, create animations and record their stories.

Before coming to Friends, Judith taught technology to children and teachers at P.S. 234, The International Community School of Abidjan and The Brearley School. As an adjunct lecturer at Brooklyn College, Judith has also helped many NYC public school teachers teach programming.

This year as she returns from a sabbatical in which she focused on animation, Judith is especially excited about bringing more animated shorts into the Lower School curriculum. She’ll continue to teach coding with Scratch and languages that resemble Scratch. Every year she looks forward to helping Third Graders teach their little buddies about ScratchJr. Her role also includes pushing into homerooms to bring collaborative computational thinking activities to First and Second Graders and supporting teachers as they weave Digital Citizenship activities into the K-4 curriculum.
