Andrea Aimi teaches Art to first through fourth-grade students at Friends Seminary, where she has taught for many years across all divisions. As a parent of a current 9th grader, she can personally attest to the merits and values of Quaker education. In addition to her work at Friends, she teaches graduate-level art education students at Pace University and mentors students in SVA’s graduate level MAT program. Andrea holds a BFA and a Post Baccalaureate from the School of Visual Arts, as well as an MA.Ed from Goddard College. She is a painter and resides in NYC.
Isabel Dominguez developed her passion for making and teaching art in childhood. She attended Boston University where she earned a BFA in Painting, and she went on to earn a Masters in Art Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. Isabel has been teaching art to children in independent schools for many, many years and teaches kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. She is a painter and printmaker and currently is working on retablos.
Valerie Garcia is excited to join the art department teaching first, second, third, and fourth grade. Before joining Friends she worked as an Equity Inclusion Coordinator, Second Grade Head Teacher, and Affinity Space Facilitator. In 2024 Valerie presented her work integrating Visual Arts with Anti-Bias and Anti-Racist Education at the National Art Educators Association national convention. She holds an MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In her free time Valerie enjoys bookbinding, gilding, collage, and reading books with her husband.
