Fourth grade Art is being taught by Andrea Aimi. The fourth grade art curriculum spans between craft and fine art. They study painting, pattern work, collage, printmaking, stenciling, and finger crochet. We also look at a multitude of cultures from the Italian Renaissance, Quaker tenets, to NYC street art. Our discussions begin with every project’s inspiration and it’s history.

Fourth grade Shop is being taught by Valerie Garcia. Shop students will deepen and explore media and techniques introduced in the lower grades as well as learning new skills and approaches. Students practice using slab, coil, and hand building techniques before creating independent projects of their own design. Students carve wooden spoons adding chisels and rasps to their skills toolbox and spend the rest of the semester planning a collaborative performance art piece.
